Nadal didn't play well and the Australian player, Nick Kyrgios, was on his best day. He fired 37 aces, playing more like Superman.

The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, number 1, was defeated in Wimbledon by Australian Nick Kyrgios, Number 144, by 3 sets to 1,  6(5)-7 7-5 6(5)-7 3-6.

Nadal was caught off-guard. Everyone expected that the game would be a stroll for him. Nobody expected this Australian hurricane 19 years old and 6'4".

After shooting the 37th ace he won and was so happy that he seemed lost in the middle of the Centre Court of Wimbledon.

Today Nadal must have felt the same that Roger Federer had in 2005, when a 19 years old - the same age of Kyrgios - Nadal had defetead him, at the Roland Garros' semifinals.

The Australian passed the most important test to predict whether this was a victory of luck or it's something thar will perdure. He has mental strength. He was not disturbed when Nadal won the second set. In principle we can say that he has the fiber of champions.

In the interview after the game, Kyrgios told reporters his goal is to be number 1. He was very happy because now he has over 25,000 followers on Twitter.

  • Wimbledon's quarterfnals are then defined:

  • Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs Marin Cilic (CRO);

  • Andy Murray(GBR) vs Grigor Dimitrov(BUL);

  • Stan Wawrinka (SUI) vs Roger Federer (SUI);

  • Milos Raonic (CAN) vs Nick Kyrgios (AUS).
